These are the five most common questions our technical support team are asked

Q1. I can connect to a Avalon Vision IP DVMS unit but I cannot see the video images!

A1. If you can connect to the unit but cannot see the images then you will need to update the active x on your PC, you can do this by connecting to the unit via Internet Explorer.

Q2. How do I address my dome using RS485 telemetry?

A2. We use binary plus one to set the ID of the domes when using RS485 telemetry i.e.switch on the binary for one less than what you need, binary 12 is camera 13. To find out what switch you need to set you can look at our quick guides for the idome and the visiondome.

Q3. How do I copy the images from the hard drive of my Avalon DVR to a CD?

A3. To make a copy of images on the hard drive depends on what access you have as an operator. If you have the required access level then you can follow our quick guides for your model of Avalon DVR, just click on your model. Avalon Plus (SDR), Avalon Plus (XDR), Avalon (FA9/16).

Q4. What are the RS485 dome connections?

A4. The RS485 connections are two middle conections of the RJ11 connector on the grey cable (CAB-0001-01) supplied with your keyboard or matrix. With the locking tab away from you the left hand connection of the middle pair is data +.

Q5. What protocols are available in the Vision Dome?

A5. Currently the protocols available on the 360 VisionDome are 360 Vision Technology Coax and RS485, Pelco P & D (2400, 4800 & 9600 baud rates), Pelco Coax (extended version), BBV Coax, Dennard C, Mark Mercer Coax, Ultrak RS485 & American Dymanics Sensornet (Touch Tracker 16 only).
